Tucked away in the hills overlooking the Middle Raccoon River, Whiterock Conservancy Trails offer a sublime mountain biking experience in Coon Rapids, Iowa. Part of a 5,500-acre nonprofit conservation effort, the 16-mile trail network winds through prairie, savanna, and forest terrains. With both beginner and intermediate trails available, there’s something for everyone.
The single-track trails are a mix of high-quality construction, completed in 2015, and natural terrains. These trails meander through different environments, boasting beautiful views of the river and surrounding area. In addition to the 16 miles of single-track trails, there are another 18 miles of shared-use trails.
Particularly noteworthy is a 4.6-mile backcountry section without an intersection. This segment offers uninterrupted flow and harmony with nature, making it a rider’s dream. Furthermore, these trails offer multiple entry points; the most useful being Star Field at 1523 140th St.
