With its impressive 272 acres, Miami Vista View boasts a feature not commonly found in South Florida—hills! Every rider knows that means a potentially exciting and challenging session. With a current ranking of 169th out of the 285 bike trails on offer in the greater Florida area, Vista View Park is 1,4 miles long and shaped in a “Horse Loop.”

Vista View Park offers fun for the whole family with a variety of fun outdoor activities. Some of the more common activities on offer include the following:

  • Paved pathways: Whether you want to spend time with your family or do some recreational cycling, the paved pathways are an ideal spot to start. Best suited to running, walking, recreational cycling, and inline skating.
  • 8 Picnic shelters: Not only are these shelters covered, but they boast electrical outlets, picnic tables, and grills. On average smaller shelters can accommodate up to 40 people. Medium shelters can easily host up to 60, and larger shelters can accommodate up to 90 people. These shelters can also be booked in advance for functions, picnics, or parties.
  • Covered playgrounds: These fun shaded playgrounds are ideal areas to keep your kids busy while you check out the trails. Dogs are allowed in the park, provided they’re always on a leash.
  • Horse trail: A 2-mile horse trail loops around the park, hence the name, Horse Loop. This trail connects to other horse trails that exist around the town.
  • Fishing: A fishing license is required for anyone who wants to fish along the shoreline or from the fishing piers.
  • Fitness trail: A half-mile loop trail around the park offers several fitness stations for outdoor enthusiasts of all strengths and fitness abilities.
  • Airfield/paragliding: As home to the ParaGator Paragliding Club, the park offers flying and paragliding sessions.
  • Primitive group camping: A wonderful team-building activity for larger groups.

Recommendations/Precautions

Since Vista View Park is a popular hot spot in the Florida area, many events are scheduled throughout the year. This includes running and cycling events as well as outdoor concerts and festivals. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to book your potential riding sessions in advance to avoid being disappointed by the availability of certain amenities on a specific day.

Be advised that the gate fee is $1.50 per person on weekends and holidays. Children under 5 can enter for free. The park’s trading hours are between 8 am to 7:30 pm Monday to Sunday.
