To reach the Sun Top Bike Trail, take Hwy 410 out of Enumclaw towards Mt. Ranier. Once you arrive at milepost 47, make a right turn onto FR 73. After crossing the White River, you will find a dirt pullout on the right side where you can park. This is the trailhead for Skookum Flats, another delightful ride that connects back to Sun Top, providing the possibility for a loop ride.
Following a steep climb of about a mile and a half, the trail unveils an unbeatable vista of Mt. Rainier. The ride then proceeds with approximately 7+ miles of sublime singletrack, eventually arriving at the Range Creek Airfield. From there, follow the road until you're almost at Highway 410, take a left, and bask in another 7+ miles of Skookum Flats.
However, some riders suggest that other trails like Deep Creek, Ranger Creek, Palisades, and Christoff across the valley might offer a better payoff for the effort.
