This biking trail is suitable for bikers of all skill levels, featuring different terrains, including sandy patches, hardwood hammocks, and flat pine woods.

When biking on this trail, we saw different wild animals, such as bobcats and deer. The trail paths are clearly marked, and we did not get lost at any point.

Detailed Trail Description

Little Big Econ features several trails which end where they start since they're a loop. We discovered that starting from the north keeps things quite interesting. The trails start easy and then get difficult as you get close to the creek and higher up by the Econ River. Riding towards the western part also makes your trip more interesting.

This trail features minimal elevation change, but there are a few climbs as you get close to the river or crook. It also has several jeep roads running throughout the park, which came in handy when we needed rescue. Nevertheless, the terrain in this area is generally flat, making it easy to ride on.

Additional Trail Features

When we arrived at the trail, we had to pay an entry fee before we were allowed to start biking. The entry fee normally varies depending on the season, so you have to check their website to know how much you're required to pay at that particular time. Entry is free for kids under the age of six.

One of the things we liked about this biking trail is that it features several amenities, including restrooms and picnic areas. These amenities are well-maintained, making your experience enjoyable. Another interesting thing is that it features several protruding roots. These roots act as natural obstacles, making your riding experience quite adventurous.

Little Big Econ offers a spacious parking lot, allowing you to come with your car or RV. The best part is that they allowed us to park overnight, which was quite convenient. We stayed here one night, biked the next day, and headed home afterward. This biking trail has several access points, which made it easier for us to start and end our journey at different locations.

Sights of Interest, landscapes, views

The Little Big Econ is quite scenic, with several excellent views overlooking the Econlockhatchee River. This river is home to several wild animals and offers an opportunity for several recreational activities, including kayaking and swimming.

The Little Big Econ biking trail landscape is a mixture of wetlands, flat pine woods, and hardwood hammocks. Such a landscape offers a spectacular natural backdrop for outdoor activities.

We spotted The Big Tree Park at the forest’s entrance which was quite attractive. This park has one of the biggest and oldest cypress trees in the US, which offers an impressive sight and is an excellent spot for taking unique photos.
