The East Lake Sammamish trail is not a loop trail. However, it is an out-back configured trail. You can take various paths to return to your starting point. But, if you want to explore the new terrains, go through the entire trail. It starts from Marymoor Park in Redmond to Gilman Village in Issaquah.
The trail is unique because you can explore many terrain and scenes, such as open fields, scenic forests, and residential areas, while cycling through the trail. Moreover, you will get a chance to ride along the lake. The lake is parallel to the trail and gives a view of magnificent mountains.
The East Lake Sammamish Trail does not require fees, and there are no known obstacles or difficult trail parts. While no shuttles or fat bike grooming are available, night riding is allowed. You can bring your dog on the trail but on a leash.
Cyclists will ride through several parks along the trail, including Marymoor Park, Idylwood Park, and Lake Sammamish State Park. These parks offer stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The trail also passes through wetlands and forests, providing a chance to spot wildlife such as eagles, otters, and beavers.

You should have a water bottle heading towards the trail because you won’t find drinking water here. Moreover, get bug spray and sunscreen for protection. Although the trail is smooth and easy, you should maintain a safe speed.
