From Leadore, drive east on Idaho State Highway 29 towards Dillon, Montana, for about 13 miles. Upon reaching Bannock Pass, turn north onto Forest Road 12. Continue for about 5.3 miles until reaching the junction for Grizzly Hill Electronic Site Road #6192. A quarter-mile up this road lies the electronic site, your parking and starting point. The trailhead is on the Northeast side of the electronic site; pass through the gate in the fence to access the trail.
The trail mainly follows the CDT, with designated posts sporadically placed along the way. However, due to its low usage, the trail may be faint in some sections.
