Nestled just a short drive away from Rapid City, South Dakota, the Buzzard's Roost Loop beckons cyclists with its unique rocky terrain and mesmerizing canyon views. With 6 miles of looping trails, riders have the chance to test their mettle on challenging climbs and rapid descents.
The eastern edge of Buzzard's Roost is notably rocky at its base, easing out as one ventures higher. Those familiar with the region won't be surprised by its stony nature—rockiness is emblematic of many trails here. Upon reaching the apex, the 'green' trail awaits, offering a relatively level journey.Descending through North Buzzard reveals its mild technicality, but don't be deceived—there are portions with steep inclines that challenge even seasoned cyclists. Venture further, and trails like Therapist and Jack's bottom beckon, with North Buzzard's base serving as a culmination point for many.The trail system's gradation ranges from green (mild) to red (severe). While some riders may opt to bypass the severest trails, those who venture forth are rewarded with adrenaline-inducing paths.

Originating from Rapid City, simply head west on Hwy 44 for approximately 5 miles. The trailhead is conveniently located on the left (south side of the road).
