Riding on mountain biking trails can be a great way to work out and stay fit. There are, however, trails that combine working out and having fun together to give you a wholesome biking experience. One such trail is the Brown Trail which is quite popular with mountain bikers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience nature at its peak.

Brown Trail Description

The trailhead opens at a corner between Macomb Street and Reilly in the Fort Bragg Area. Interestingly, you can spot brown blazes upon entry, making it easy for bikers to locate. The trail is also accessed through the Black Trail and is a good place for a workout. 

Amazingly, the trail stands out as one of the most difficult in the area due to the numerous downhills and drops that are pretty daunting for intermediate and beginner bikers. For bikers that ride this trail regularly, they will find out other routes will become easy for them, having been accustomed to the tricky nature of the course. 

With an elevation gain of 10 up and elevation loss of 0 down, sharp inclines, twists, and tricky declines are pretty fun for those who can maneuver successfully. Finally, some rocky sections consist of pinewood trees, hardwood, and rocky outcroppings, making this part of the trail highly technical. 

Additional Trail Features

Asides from being a fantastic trail option due to its impressive layout, Brown Trail offers incredible views of nature and its surroundings. Due to vegetation, the trail plays home to wildlife like deer, squirrels, and multiple birds for bikers to view while taking breaks. Dogs are also allowed on this trail though they should be leashed. Sadly, there is no information on e-bike riding, shuttle service, and night riding.

Brown Trail is a technical trail by nature; as such, it is suitable for only advanced bikers. Even with your mountain biking experience, you should be cautious on this trail as its terrain is tricky and somewhat challenging. There is also no guarantee of drinking water, so it will be wise to bike along with your food and water supplies.
