Bike and Roll offers the most entertaining and informative bike tours of Washington DC. Learn about the sites, history and stories behind the National Mall and surrounding area! There is no better way to get up close and personal with all the great sites that Washington, DC and Alexandria, VA have to offer than from the seat of a bike. Come and explore with us!

  • Bicycle tours are conducted on our Trek comfort hybrid bikes (sorry no tandems on tours)
  • Daily guided bike tours are offered from mid-March to mid-December
  • Reservations are recommended but walk-ups are always welcome!
    (we recommend checking availability before arriving)
  • Tour groups are limited to a maximum of 15 riders to ensure a safe and personal experience
  • Private tours and group tours are available with advance notice
 

NEW! Sites by Segway reserve-now
Segway the Sites with Bike and Roll Washington DC! Our brand new Segway tours start May 4th. This tour will be an overview of the National Mall from the Capitol to WWII including the north side of the White House, some fun off-the-Mall spots, and a ride down Pennsylvania Avenue. We can accommodate groups up to 8 people. Must be at least 16 years old to participate. For more information please call our downtown location at 202-842-2453.

Old Town Alexandria Bike Tour

Settled in 1695, Alexandria, Virginia lies just across the river from DC. Along with its many boutique shops and excellent restaurants, Alexandria is noted for its many historic sites. Among other “gems” within the heart of Old Town, our guided tour takes you to sites frequented by George Washington, Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Jefferson including Christ Church, Gadsby’s Tavern, and the George Washington Masonic Memorial.

Mount Vernon Bike Tour
Mount Vernon by Bike and Boat reserve-now
24-hour Advanced Reservation Required 
Start in Alexandria and cycle to George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate. In the afternoon, board the Miss Christin for a narrated boat cruise back to Old Town. Price includes bike rental/bike pick-up, admission to Mt. Vernon, and return boat ticket. Boat departs Mt. Vernon at 4:00pm; arrives in Alexandria at 5:30pm. We reccomend departing Alexandria by 11:00am. Space is limited and 24-hour advance reservation required. If you have a rider ages 2 to 5 please call to make your reservation (703-548-7655). This is a discounted package, no additional discounts can be applied.

Ride A Bike To Mount Vernon

“We rented bikes from Bike and Roll Alexandria and rode down to Mt Vernon. My 9 and 11 year old had no problem with the 20 mile ride. There are many water fountains along the way. The bikes were well maintained and the staff friendly. It was a magnificent family day activity.”
